Meet Your Local Blogger: Check out the MetroMix puffery (the blogger mentioned, that’s us!) about the Southern Belles, including the fictitious idea that Shea, who has since parted ways with her boyfriend, is still trying to get engaged. That’s just one of the storylines not based in reality, but we hear the show’s ratings are through the roof. [MetroMix]
Speaking of Reality: Check out this lineup of Reality (let’s see, not Stars, ummm) People coming to town for the June 27 Police and Firefighters Benefit. As much fun as it would be to criticize reality stars and people who think they’re celebrities, it’s a great event for a good cause and the celebs don’t get appearance fees for showing up. The Rick Gets His Man: Rick Pitino’s old pal Ralph Willard will be sitting next to him on the sidelines at Freedom Hall next year, making him among the most experienced #2s in college basketball. Willard’s first head coaching job was at WKU in 1990, and he’s been a head coach ever since. Quite a coup for Pitino. [U of L]
Long List from the Gov: Beshear announced an economic incentive overhaul today that he hopes will help get us some NASCAR races. [Page One]
That Number Again: We hear that all the media turned out for the automated tip line press conference downtown this morning, and that plenty of Metro Council members are irked that the ease in which these regular citizens set up the service makes them look bad. It does. Paul Holliger and Ray Pierce, along with a couple of women with Masters degrees, are answering calls daily at 410-1009.
Dogged Questions: We missed Gilles Meloche on TV at the Metro Council budget hearings, but our sources say the questions were pretty tough, especially those from Kelly Downard. Nothing, however, about the audit that’s being conducted.
No Post Office: Another good rumor is that the post office in Valley Station is going to be closed to save costs, and residents, many of whom still use U.S. Mail, are worried. Employees have been told not to discuss the potential closing with media, which means it’s probably going to happen. Councilman Bob Henderson says any plan for change must be discussed at a public meeting.
Carbon Nation: Tonight you can catch a sneak preview of a new climate change solutions documentary at the Green Building on Market Street. The new film is directed by Louisvillian Peter Byck. The fundraiser starts at 6, and includes wine and cheese. Link to the trailer here. [Carbon Nation]

This seems to be the place for wreckless rumors, so here’s one: I heard that Rick Redding’s wife cleaned out his checking account then ran off. Not only is Rick a schmuck, he’s a penniless one at that. I also heard that this has something to do with his arrest a few months back.

Wow – a lowly Courier-Journal employee is back to attacking Rick personally.
What bug crawled up your ass and died this time, David Daly?

Wreckless rumors on a blog vs wreckless, insecure, pathetic writing in a once respected newspaper. I’ll take the blogger any day. CJ sucks and apparently there are at least two David’s that compare to the rear end of a horse. What are these wreckless blog rumors do they speak of anyway?

Interesting that it takes someone from a decrepit newspaper on Broadway to come here and bash one person. I’m hoping that the louts at the CJ would add me to their list. Anyone that is putting it to the CJ like this site has been doing is obviously doing something right to get that kind of response.
